With increasing CRA scrutiny of real estate transactions, understanding potential tax implications and audit procedures is essential for realtors, buyers, sellers, builders, and investors. This session will explore what to expect following a property sale, potential tax risks, and how to protect your rights and interests.
The presentation will be delivered by a tax lawyer specializing in tax controversy, GST/HST on real estate, CRA audits, objections, and tax appeals.
About the speaker:
Julia Ghazi, Tax Lawyer at Artunis Tax Law
Julia Ghazi is the founder of Artunis Tax Law, a boutique tax law firm focused on tax controversy and advocacy. She advises and represents clients on a wide range of tax matters, including GST/HST on real estate, offshore income and business income. Julia works with high-net-worth individuals, investors, builders, tradespeople, developers, real estate brokerages and agents. She represents clients at every stage of a tax dispute, from CRA audits and objections to appeals before the Tax Court of Canada. Among her clients and professional network, Julia is known as a dedicated advocate for those facing challenges with the CRA. She works to find practical solutions and resolve disputes as efficiently as possible for her clients.

Important Note
.Important: Only active PICRA members with a valid and paid membership subscription are eligible to receive PICRA member benefits and exclusive offers.
If you have not registered as a PICRA member, are not eligible for membership, or your membership subscription is inactive, expired, or unpaid, you will not be eligible to receive member-exclusive services, benefits, discounts, or promotional offers.
Example: An event ticket may have a regular price of $38. Active PICRA members with a valid paid subscription will receive a 100% discount code, allowing them to register at $0.
If you are not an active member, you must pay the full event fee in order to attend.
Please note: If you register using a member discount code without having an active and eligible membership, your registration will be considered invalid, and PICRA reserves the right to cancel your registration and deny entry to the event.
